The 6.30am club

Some of the 6.30am club
Some of the 6.30am club

The 6.30 club

Is unique to behold

With darkness swimming

And getting cold,

Around and around the sea flows

And with the wind that makes the flag blow.

There’s Sharkbait

The gallant gent

that swims on the outside

off us all

Attracting any creatures if we give him a call...

There’s Pixie that swims like a butterfly

But is as strong as can be

And walks along in the dark

To where the meet is to be...

There’s Sally and Adi

That pigeon pair

with hearts of gold

with helping us old ones out

so the doesn’t take us

and were have to shout...

There’s Treacle

with that beaming smile

that laughs and is full of fun

who goes around and checks everyone....

There’s Michael

Who is tall and slim

although we all now know he doesn’t swim

but walks along moving his arms,

but it is to be said without this man

many would have to stay in and do what we can....

There’s Shauna

with her Loch Ness gloves

that brings a smile upon my face

and memories of that Scottish place

where my heart will stay for now...

There’ Bernice

that taught me to swim the front crawl those ma y years ago

that loves swimming to and through...

Some days the darkness is tranquil and still

That draws you in

To that sacred place

We all call

The 6.30 Club....
