Happy 6th birthday to us

Six years ago in May this little community group was born on Warner Road, Selsey, with the chief purpose of introducing people to the wonders of the sea, aid loneliness, and facilitate a bond forged together through our love of the natural world. Little could we have known how much further this would go, with friendships born, other groups birthed, and community events and charity dips undertaken, and even a TV show appearance. But most of all, we have gained/regained/continued our love of the sea and as David Attenborough in his new film, Ocean, has described, without taking care and appreciating the wonder of the sea, none of us will survive to see future generations enjoying playing in the waves and swimming to the lifeboat station and back as we do.
To celebrate our 6th birthday, we got together last weekend to swim, dip, help each other in and out, share a little Prosecco and delicious birthday cake kindly made by Alex, as well as sing along with the Molls. We had new members, old friends from the Thames and other parts of the county, plus many of our core group. Here's a little snapshot of the gathering. And thank you again to everyone who came and those who couldn't make it, were with us in spirit.
